Filler Session - Hunter The Vigil: Actions Have Consequences
filler

GM:Nick Players: Richard, J. Guilt, Joshua, Sharon, Marcus

I had two weddings to attend this past weekend and did not have time to audio edit part two of our last SSM game session, so instead I give you HUNTER THE VIGIL as GM’d by Nick. I’m hoping this becomes a regular game as I jump in with my own character after this recorded session.

Session 58: 2 Weddings and A Trial
session

Players: Nick, Marcus, Jamas, Sharon, Joshua, J. Guilt

Here is part 1.
Here is part 2.

The investigators are off to visit the Cario university in Egypt. There they hope to find answers to some as yet unexplained mysteries. The Airship “Still Unnamed” is on it’s maiden voyage, filled to the brim with equipment, food and booze … did I mention the 5 APE crew? Along for the ride are Xander, fulfilling the role of daring pilot, and the Beta clone in case we need repairs! Moving from one place to another is never easy, and in this case we get to visit a lost island when the Still Unnamed is forced to land due to deadly weather conditions. Join us as two of our crew suddenly find themselves to no longer be bachelors!

Ooooooooo so fun. The testosterone level gets high in this one as lovely native girls are flaunted and bargains are struck to acquire some womanly flesh.

Session

Ethan Thane has moved into his posh new mansion in district 1, taking on quite a bit of debt in the doing. Mr. Thane has also stepped down from his position with the Cheka and has opened his home for a house warming party with a guest list comprised of Metapol’s finest celebrities and public officials. It all seems off to a good start, but what’s a house warming without a corpse?

Sharon, get better! This was a fun little interlude session. I didn’t have the spare time to game prep for our big expedition to Egypt, so instead you get this. Some really great thinking on the players’ part for this session, I may have handed out the most Fate chips ever in this adventure.

Abducted German scientist are hidden somewhere in Metapol, but WHERE! We’ve got a badly wounded and now comatose Bob Starling who’s person provided a few clues and a slip of paper found at Mr. Andersons. Armed with these clues, are heroes devise a two-pronged attack on the destination of evil-doing, a private hospital out in district 3. Sewer group ‘A’ comprised of Aldrick, Marlow and Thane took the low ground while Ms. Rackham, Gavin and Bishop took the direct route, working undercover as a news team wanting to do a story. Listen in and find out how these poor slobs heroes make out!

Some real life priorities took me away from the game table for a few weeks, but we’re back for this session. Joshua (playing Ethan Thane) also played, but fell asleep with the first hour. WOw, my GM ego is crushed.

We rejoin our investigators as they have a number of tasks on their hands. Point 1: where are the German scientists being held and who were Sally’s accomplices in Metapol? Point 2: We seem to still have this giant floating city above Metapol…. Point 3: What secret messages were being passed by the spies aboard The City Above? Point 4: Good gosh, what more is isn’t there to do! As if the list was not long enough, it seems that a local charitable goods shop is in trouble and Ms. Rackham is obligated to lend a hand. And did we mention that dear old Bob has been stabbed nearly to death?

We are back to our regular sessions after being setback a week. We start the action right off by getting the group back down to Metapol where the problems just seem to layer, one after another. Joshua drops out again after a few hours (I think there’s a drinking game here somewhere?).

Filler Session: Behind University Walls
Session, filler

What possible things can transpire on a University campus in New York? Find out!

Sorry for the rather generic lead-in. Sharon, if you’d like to give me a blurb for this one, I’d gladly replace it as I’ve not finished listening to it myself yet. As you readers might already surmise, Sharon GM’d this one a few months back for Richard, Nick, J. Guilt and Joshua. I haven’t added this to the SSM feed yet, pending Sharon’s approval, but I will post the first two hours of the adventure here. Sharon, let me know if I can add it to the feed!

My apologies for there not being a regular game this week. My last good friend in town got a much needed job offer and had to pack and leave town in 3 days! I understand that some enterprising players got together and did a one shot of Invaderz! during our normal game time, and if legends are true, it did get recorded.

session

Here is the 1st part.
Here is the 2nd part.

The mystery of the woman who fell from the city above concludes in this session. Our gang of daring heroes pick up the important clues that bring about an explosive confrontation in an airplane hanger. Mr. Gavin pilots an automobile as if it were a missile, Mr. Marlow and Mr. Bishop leap dramatically from this speeding doom-wagon as the ever professional Ms. Rackham bravely stands her ground snapping off award winning photographs of all the action! And where is Mr. Hundaguard in all this you might ask? Why, menacing a secretary highly trained in the lethal arts of course! A not to be missed, pulse-pounding session of Steam, Steel and Murder!

Well over a month since this mystery began and we are back to polish it off. Due to weather and life commitments, your humble GM was not able to make our last session so it is no surprise that we spent some time in the beginning re-hashing the plot and clues found to date. There is a wonderful scene in this session that is PULP in the way that I like it. The chips go flying and all the players go for broke.

Here is the full session

We missed a game week so there is no new SSM session to post up. In February we did run a number of one shot sessions (many were long enough to do over two or more sessions) and here is the Dresden Files game that Nick ran for a few of us.

Another dead body in Metapol, and it’s linked to the Guilds? Who better to investigate than…well, the people who are paid to! Our fearless gang sharpen their investigatory skills as they leave no seedy-bar, fight club or palace of deviant delights upturned!

Another wonderful guest GM spot, this time by Marcus who normally plays the delightful Mr. Bishop. Anton gets to stretch his PC legs again which makes me happy, unfortunately I was feeling like crap for this one.

Edison’s city in the sky awaits! Our investigators explore the enlightened inhabitants of this floating paradise and bring with them the specter of distrust and rage. Will certain characters hold it together long enough to find fact from fiction, or will they simply bring it all down in one fiery, conflagrating, heap of awesome. Tune in to find out!

Skype is broken, I want my money back. Despite some tech issues at the beginning and losing Joshua within the first hour, it ends up being a pretty good session. The crew is in full-on investigation mode and leave no rock (or person) overturned. We learn a little bit about Edison’s character and world view.
