The Podcast will soon be 4 years old!

While cleaning up the feed today I noticed that the first episode ran November 6th 2009. That means we will soon be 4 years running! Woot!

Beyond the Wall and Other Adventures
one shots

*Players: Richard, Sharon, Eldon and Chris

Beyond the Wall is an OSR/D20 system, in other words pretty generic BUT it arrives there in interesting story-game style ways. I collected a gaggle of players willing to give it a shot, and here is the mess we made.

The audio was pretty bad once I got in to do the editing, something that I did not notice during the skype call itself. Mostly due to my microphone coming in waaaaaaay too low and having to compress the recording enough to match voice levels left a crap-ton of audio artifact. My apologies, it’s cleaned up the best I could manage.

Welcome Chris to the gaming group! He’s been a long time listener to the podcast and finally gets to join in a game.

Computer Disaster!

Well, the only Windows computer that I have in the house (unfortunately it IS the recording computer) died as I was trying to edit audio for the Podcast feed. Why do I use the windows box you ask? ….well, Powergrammo (the recording software I use) is Windows ONLY. I’m going to try and get something setup for the weekend so I can get back into the gaming and podcasting. I’ll keep people posted. Likely i’m going to have to build a new computer and find new software to use for the actual recordings as I don’t have the original Windows disks anymore to do the re-install – also windows 7 doesn’t like your hardware to change too much or it thinks you’re trying to pirate it. The hard drives are fine, and I still have all the terabytes of audio that still needs to be edited. None of that was lost. Anyways, I’ll keep you guys posted.

Huzzah! Rescuing the audio files from the dead computer went well and I was able to get this game up and edited for the feed. Part 2 will be posted here as I am able, so if you listen to these things from here, you’ll get your part 2 well before it hits the feed. Keep checking back for it.

Nothing on the feed this week

Players:NONE!

Labor Day gave me an extended weekend that I spent primarily with the wife, so no audio got edited to post on the feed. Yes, yes I know there are terabytes of recorded audio sitting on this hard drive…right…here. Yup, sitting right there…unedited and not compressed into .mp3 format for podcast distribution. I may get something up (likely a Deadlands recording) mid-week, but until then the SSM feed goes silent.

You other GM’s that are part of the community, if you have something cleaned up, compressed and can give it an audio introduction and want me to slide a game or two into the feed, let me know. I’d prefer it be a one-shot or up to a 3 session mini-campaign that I can post over time. I’d be glad to also put a first episode of a longer game up if you want to include an intro or outro telling listeners how/where they can find the rest of your game.

Our ongoing Deadlands game returns! Not much else to say, I’m still shilling for Aethercon and their online convention in November. If you listen and haven’t done so, please leave us some feedback on itunes or recommend an episode at RPG Podcasts
